Right-click the image above to download the linked icon file (not the .png image itself, but the file it links to), which is a 256 x 256 .ico file. For Windows 7 users you'll have to use a file manager such as FileTypesMan to change the default icon, since the "change icon" option is for some inexplicable reason no longer available in folder options or context menus for anything but shortcuts. In lieu of an official icon this should hold you over in the meantime.

Well no one has left you any comment thanking you for this so I figured I would. I haven't had an icon for my ePub files, now this will suit it perfectly. I've installed the dotePub extension and I'm going to be using the format more often, I figure they might as well be pretty instead of having a Windows generated file with the calibre e-reader logo. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it definitely makes for easier file browsing than with a Windows generated icon, so I'm glad to know someone out there can use it. Makes it worth the bother to upload and post. So thanks for the comment, and enjoy your pretty pages.
ReplyDeleteI downloaded the icon in Febuary, and this morning (early one ;-)) wrote about it in G+. And a friend pointed out that the link to the actual icon file is broken...
ReplyDeleteI'm in the process of migrating all my website files to a new server, so thanks for pointing this one out. I'll fix it when I get back in town tonight. And thanks for the mention on G+!
